The FSL Partner Network is committed to fostering the full recognition and use of both English and French in Canadian society. The partners involved will continue to develop activities that advance French as a second language by sharing the knowledge and expertise available in order to promote linguistic duality. The FSL Network acts as a resource to the government of Canada and other stakeholders by:

  1. Supporting a pan-Canadian strategy to feature the benefits of learning French as a second language and the variety of in-school and extra-curricular learning opportunities available.
  2. Encouraging the creation of a pan-Canadian process to define, track and recognize student achievement in French as a second language learning.
  3. Initiating and encouraging research and disseminating this research to inform the development of innovative practices that revitalize French Immersion and Core French methodology and programs.
  4. Advocating for ongoing professional development opportunities for French Immersion and Core French teachers.
  5. Advancing the expansion of experiential learning opportunities and community involvement for youth in their second official language.
  6. Promoting the creation of a pan-Canadian program providing teachers an opportunity to participate in flexible teacher exchange and learning opportunities.
  7. Supporting opportunities for FSL students to explore a career in FSL education.
