Many people have different opinions about shopping. Some people only do it when they absolutely need to, while others will come home with everything from books about crafts to expensive new sneakers after a day of retail therapy at the mall. No matter what your opinion on the topic, the truth is that everyone needs places to shop in their area and while they're on vacation. Luckily for those in the Mississauga area, there are lots of options throughout the city. There are those who want the mall experience and those for people who are interested in a specialty item.

Ontario's largest mall is Square One Shopping Centre and it is located right in the heart of Mississauga. This location has more than three hundred and fifty stores and you can get everything from sports equipment to new lipstick. Mississauga residents also make use of the multi-screen movie theatre and the more than half a dozen restaurants. There are four department stores in the mall and a Whole Foods Market.

This is not the only mall in Mississauga. The Erin Mills Shopping Centre has almost one hundred and fifty stores and the Dixie Outlet Mall is a great place to find the best prices for cloth diapers or electronics with its one hundred stores. There is also the Heartland Centre in the north end of the city, which is an outdoor mall with big box stores and a variety of restaurants.

If you're looking for something a little more unique than you might want to try some village shopping. Port Credit Village has a variety of stores where you can find online art, jewelry, and some of the best antique stores in the area. Clarkson Village is also a good choice if you're looking for a nice stroll through some specialty stores and the Village of Streetsville will let you feel like you're away from the big city for a little while. This is also one of the places in the country with the largest Asian community and you will find all sorts of cool shops and restaurants around the Mississauga Chinese Centre on Dundas Street.

Sometimes when you're shopping you're looking for something great to wear or a present for someone you love. But other times you're more interested in getting something for dinner that night with your family. If you want some of the best local produce and to visit with some great artisans than you should check out the Mississauga Farmer's Market, which runs throughout the warmer months in the Square One parking lot.
